Climate Surveys

PII assists educational entities with fact-finding projects that that are not solely connected to violations of law or internal policies.  We have conducted Climate Surveys of individual departments to gather information about employee dissatisfaction, interviewed recently separated employees to determine reasons for departures, and collected information about alleged compliance breaches.  PII works closely with management to customize its work to address the specific needs of each workplace.

After developing a research plan, PII will:

  • Conduct interviews in-person, using video-conferencing, or by telephone.
  • Make site visits.
  • Catalogue and review documents.
  • Conduct background research on complex topics.
  • Design and maintain databases.
  • Present research findings.

Case in Point

A Southern California hospital retained PII to interview the staff of its pharmacy department when management suspected that low employee morale was causing problems. PII found that the perceived job dissatisfaction was largely non-existent. However, the interviews uncovered a different problem related to the pharmacy’s compliance with state and federal laws, a situation that management moved quickly to correct.
