Miles Grillo, AWI-CH, is an experienced workplace and Title IX investigator. He conducts workplace investigations involving complaints of a variety of behaviors, including bullying, discrimination, and harassment. Grillo also conducts Title IX investigations related to complaints of gender bias, sexual harassment, and sexual assault for public universities and private colleges, and has conducted mitigation investigations for death penalty matters.
Grillo has received specialized training on conducting trauma-informed interviews from T9 Mastered. He has attended the Capital Case Defense Seminar and numerous conferences on workplace investigations. Grillo has extensive experience in internet research, including social media, real estate records, court records, and other databases.
Prior to joining PII, Grillo worked in the legal field on disability advocacy issues and in the computer industry.

- Managing Editor – AWI Journal, Grillo manages the creation and publication of the quarterly AWI Journal.
- Awarded – Volunteer of the Year, 2023, for his service as a managing editor of the AWI Journal and for serving as liaison to the Educational Oversight Committee and the Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
Career Highlights
- Investigations at major research labs in medicine and technology on a wide range of issues including animal welfare concerns, sexual harassment complaints, and bullying and abusive treatment of subordinates.
- Investigations of bullying, harassment, and discrimination requiring development of survey question lists and data organization for more than 30 interviewees.
- Investigations involving connecting with and speaking to unhoused people about their experiences.
- Investigations involving disability accommodations in a university setting.
- Served as a mitigation specialist on death penalty cases involving defendants in Alaska, Arizona, and California.
- Development of data tracking and organization systems for larger investigations involving cross-complaints and multiple parties.
