Alissa de Vogel, AWI-CH, is an attorney who applies extensive experience working with trauma survivors. She interviews them about their experiences to conduct workplace and Title IX investigations for public and private organizations and higher education systems. Alissa skillfully investigates allegations of employment discrimination, employee and employer misconduct, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims. During her career, de Vogel has gathered witness statements and documentary evidence from educators, medical providers, and employers to prepare claimants’ cases for hearings with Administrative Law Judges.

Prior to joining PII, de Vogel worked as a community-based lawyer in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. She addressed legal issues related to housing, disability rights, and government benefits. Previously, she worked directly with clients to help them navigate administrative processes related to Social Security benefits and other government programs.

 Career Highlights:

  • Conducted investigations into matters of racial and gender discrimination at a global technology company.
  • Conducted investigations in the health care field, including allegations of employee misconduct at a psychiatric hospital, and a climate survey at a pediatric hospital.
  • Investigated allegations of sexual harassment, domestic violence, and dating violence at colleges and universities pursuant to Title IX regulations.
  • Retained by a California State University Campus’s Human Resources and Title IX Office to investigate bullying and gender-based discrimination by the school’s Athletic Director, who resigned following PII’s report.
  • Investigated allegations of classroom violence at a high school, which resulted in the termination of the school’s head football coach.
  • Retained by the Vice Chancellor of a University of California school to investigate the handling of a discrimination complaint by the school’s Discrimination Prevention Office.
