PII’s Keith Rohman Attends Ceremony at the Department of Labor in Washington, D.C.

In August 1995, 78 Thai garment workers were freed from a sweatshop in El Monte, California, where they were enslaved behind barbed wire for up to seven years. The story of their enslavement made national and international news at the time. Within days, PII was retained by civil rights lawyers and lead attorney Julie Su, to investigate on behalf of the Thai workers.

Questions arise over San Jose fire department’s Pink Poodle investigation

The Department of Justice today announced that the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida has entered a consent order resolving the department’s Fair Housing Act claims against Advocate Law Groups of Florida P.A. (ALGF); Jon B. Lindeman Jr.; Ephigenia K. Lindeman; Summit Development Solutions USA LLC (SDS) and Haralampos “Bob” Kourouklis. The department’s lawsuit alleged that defendants discriminated on the basis of national origin when they targeted Hispanic homeowners for predatory mortgage loan modification services and interfered with those individuals’ ability to keep their homes.

PII Investigation Related to UCLA Spirit Squad

In February 2019, Public Interest Investigations Inc., was retained by UCLA to investigate allegations that Robbins “had engaged in a pattern of conduct that could be considered harassing, intimidating and disruptive to University activities, specifically with regard to members of the UCLA student Spirit Squad,” Vehling’s lawyers state in their court papers.
