Nina Baumler, AWI-CH, leverages two decades of experience as an employment attorney to conduct neutral workplace investigations into allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, and other types of misconduct for public and private employers. She also conducts Title IX investigations for universities, colleges, and K-12 districts. Baumler is particularly skilled at interviewing vulnerable people about deeply personal issues.

Prior to focusing on investigations, Baumler practiced employment litigation, representing clients in matters involving wage and hour disputes, allegations of harassment and discrimination, and whistleblower complaints. She has deep experience working with non-profit entities and representing low-income workers.

Baumler began her career as an employment attorney in England, advising corporate clients on workplace policies, compensation, and human resources issues, including discipline and wrongful termination. She also litigated cases involving discrimination based on gender, disability, and other protected categories. Baumler is conversant in Spanish.

Career Highlights 

  • Investigated allegations of sexual harassment at a high-end sushi restaurant where kitchen staff was accused of harassing a waitress. The investigative process also uncovered sexual harassment of customers.
  • Investigated conflicts of interest and contracting violations at a trucking company where a manager allegedly steered trucking business to a company owned by one of his in-laws.
  • Investigated claims that the head of the engineering department at a hospital was engaged in timecard fraud for many years and that hospital employees worked for his contracting business while clocked in at the hospital.
  • Multiple Title IX investigations of sexual assault on college campuses, including allegations of sexual assault at a fraternity house during a party.
  • Investigated allegations of theft of embarrassing personal images on a cell phone by co-workers at an auction house.
